CLADDAGH
Named after one of the oldest former fishing villages in Ireland, the traditional Claddagh represents love, loyalty, and friendship. The hands signify friendship, the heart represents love, and the crown characterizes loyalty. Mackenzie is pleased to offer this collar, with all its symbolism, to breeds of all heritages. Available in 1″ width.
BOOK OF KELLS
The Book of Kells was created by monks in Ireland between the 8th and 9th century. While it is the gospel of Colmcille, this glorious work of illuminated art contains a wealth of Celtic images. The precise detail and color variety achieved is so precise and detailed; no one is sure exactly how they were able to achieve it. It is a never ending source of inspiration for us. This ribbon is depicting an image directly from one of the pages. This design has it all, color, movement, balance, and shape. It will certainly start a conversation! Available in 1” and 3/4″ width.

HOLLY
We designed this ribbon based on an old German design. Holly is the floral symbol of good will and has long been associated with the Christmas season. Simple, colorful and strong, this ribbon highlights the season but certainly looks festive all year round. Available in 1.5”, 1” and 3/4” widths.
PRIDE OF SCOTLAND
Woven under the scottish tartan authority we are proud to offer this tartan. We love the “mist on the moors” coloring of this tartan, and it looks great on both people and dogs. Available in 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″, and 1.5″ in all colors.
SHAMROCK EMERALD
Our most successful ribbon has been improved! We spent almost a year perfecting just the right color green metallic yarns to weave into the shamrocks. The result is dazzling, making the shamrocks shine like emeralds. This ribbon allows the wearer to sparkle. Available in 5/8”, ¾”, 1 inch and 1.5 inch widths.
SHAMROCK
Available in Tartan/Celtic collection under 1.5”, 1”, ¾” and 5/8” widths. We designed this ribbon to celebrate Ireland! The floral symbol of Ireland, the rich green shamrock, flows into a Celtic knotwork, each representing the never-ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The border is a design from a Celtic manuscript.
TRINITY KNOT
Available in Tartan/Celtic Collection under 1.5”, 1”, 1 ½”, 5/8” widths. The trinity knot boldly and simply represents the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. We chose a silver metallic as the Celts worked with pewter and were master metalworkers. We chose a deep emerald green, as this is the color of the forests of the Celtic world.
ZODIAC SUNS
This ribbon is a personal favorite. First, we had to find the perfect sun. We went to the Book of Hours, an illuminated text from the Middle Ages. We chose the astrological sun because we loved the face and the straight and wavy rays. We then decided to put the symbols fo the zodiac signs on the border. Then we had to choose colors. The jewel tones of ruby, sapphire, royal purple, and emerald make the ribbon look rich, yet bright. We hope you look at this design as your portable sunny day! Available in 3/4″, 1″, and 1.5″ in all colors.
THISTLE
Available in Tartan/Celtic collection in red/black and blue/white colorways under 1.5”, 1”, 1½” widths. The ultimate Scottish ribbon! We looked for years for a thistle ribbon and never found one, so we designed our own. The thistle is the floral symbol of Scotland. The story goes that the Norse invaders landed on the Scottish coast and promptly became entangled in the wild thistles. Their screams of pain alerted the Scottish defenders and they threw the Norsemen back into the sea, thus saving Scotland. The thistle is both delicate and tough, and it is depicted here amongst a strong Celtic knotwork. The blue/white colorway represents the St. Andrews flag and the red/black colorway reflects colors frequently depicted in Tartans.
CELTIC LANDSCAPE
We have always been fascinated with the Celtic stone carvings. The precision and intricacy are spellbinding. We wanted to create a ribbon which captures the beauty of the Celtic knots as they would appear carved into stone. The background is woven to look like granite and the knotworks are double woven to allow the detail and color rise above the background. This hardwearing ribbon looks great with the Celtic design buckles. Available in 1.5″ width.
STRAWBERRY THIEF
This is a design inspired by William Morris, (1834-1896), the founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Morris believed the industrial age emphasized mass production over arts and crafts. The goal of the Arts and Crafts Movement was to bring beauty into people’s homes. He was an artist, writer, printer, and designer. One of our favorite William Morris designs is from his wallpaper pattern “Strawberry Thief.” The colors and design are fascinating. We threw in a touch of pink metallic to give it remarkable pizzazz. This is the ultimate attention getter and we hope we did Mr. Morris proud. There is no finer design that this one! Available in 1.5″ width.
REGATTA
The America’s Cup artwork provides the inspiration for this lovely ribbon. We chose the yacht America, the J boat yacht Shamrock, and the clipper ship the Cutty Sark. We allowed them to sail freely about the ribbon, thus creating movement with in the design. This is a strong nautical ribbon celebrating sailing history Available in 3/4″, 1″, and 1.5″ widths.
SAXON KNOT
We created the pink and green saxon knot ribbon because we listen to our customers. This ribbon sure does stand out in a crowd! Available in 3/4″and 1″. This very popular ribbon pattern now comes in a lovely ¾ inch blue/silver combination we call arctic.
CHINESE CHEVRON
This lovely ribbon is from an ancient painted china bottle. The design is delicate yet strong. The olive/gold/maroon combination looks great on everyone. The beauty of this design is the never-ending color combination we can use. As a collar with matching leash, it’s a very elegant presentation. Available in 3/4″ width.
CHINESE DRAGONS
The Chinese dragon is an ancient symbol of wealth, power and luck. We chose images from the porcelains as well as the robes of the emperors. The pomegranate and the chrysanthemum were depicted frequently during the Ming dynasty. These images remain beautiful as they walk through time. Available as 3/4″, 1″ and 1.5″ widths.
CHINESE HORSES
Available in Designer Collection under 1.5” width. This is a stunning design! The inspiration for this ribbon comes from a cloisonn enamel bowl from the Ming dynasty. The horses represent earth, wind, and water. The bats and birds floating in the clouds represent air. The bat image is found frequently in ancient Chinese art, as the bat is the connecting animal between the Earth and the Sky. The colors we chose most accurately reflect the colors of the original piece.
DRAGONFLY
Available in Designer collection 1.5” width. The dragonfly is an ancient and universal symbol of luck and good fortune. There are dragonfly images in art from ancient to modern times. Tiffany used the dragonfly frequently during the art deco period and it is this image, which serves as the inspiration for this design. We used the strong colors of the art deco period with the lace edging giving the design its delicacy.
LEO
Available in Designer collection in purple and charcoal colorways in 1.5″ width. The lion is a symbol of strength and power. We had to depict the king of beasts in a strong pose, so we have him with paw up ready for battle and looking behind himself. He is looking to the heavens, particularly at the constellation Leo depicted here. We think he is pleased with himself. We used a rich purple the symbolize royalty and a deep charcoal to symbolize the desert night of Africa. Red is available in 1 inch.
WILD HORSES
Available in Designer collection 1.5″ width. The inspiration for this design is a frieze from the art deco period. The horses although one-dimensional create depth, strength, movement and majesty. We chose a light blue-gray background for this design so that it can be worn either casually with jeans or formally with black. This design shows how strength and movement can be created in a narrow width.
